Art and History of this Hermès Scarf

Au Cœur des Bois was issued in 1998, the year Hermès dedicated to the tree, alongside other creations such as Sous le Cèdre (Beneath the Cedar) by Dimitri Rybaltchenko and Copeaux (Wood Shavings) by Caty Latham. This theme reflects the house's commitment to nature, a constant source of inspiration. In this scarf, Zoé Pauwels depicts the teeming life of a tree, symbolising the interdependence of flora and fauna. Every branch, every leaf, every animal is portrayed with a meticulousness that bears witness to the richness and complexity of the forest ecosystem. A superb, poetic scarf by one of the artists we love most at Carré Society.
