Dans l’Atelier de Robert Dallet (In Robert Dallet’s Studio) is a Hermès scarf composed by the Maison from the family archives of the animal painter Robert Dallet. The original design was first issued in 2016, as a posthumous tribute to this major artist of the Hermès bestiary.

Robert Dallet (1923-2006), an exceptional self-taught naturalist, devoted his life to the animal world, and above all to big cats. Tigers, panthers, lions, lynxes: he observed them with almost scientific precision, attentive to movement, to muscular tension, to the gaze and presence of the animal.

This piece is the Finesse Eyeliner version, issued by Hermès for the autumn-winter 2018-2019 collection. It takes up the original design and transposes it into a very graphic palette of navy blue and white.

Robert Dallet’s studies appear in transparency on a ground alternating gingham, lines and exercise-book ruling. The effect is striking: the scarf does not merely show the finished work, it gives the impression of stepping into the painter’s studio, among his sketchbook pages and preparatory studies.

The result is restrained, contemporary and highly distinctive. A rare scarf, sought after by collectors, never reissued in this version. It is offered here new, never worn.
