Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Faune et Flore du Texas – Kermit Oliver (1987)

Created in 1987 by Kermit Oliver, the Hermès scarf Faune et Flore du Texas (Texas Wildlife) pays tribute to the 150th anniversary of the independence of this American state. The only American artist to have collaborated with Hermès, Kermit Oliver signs here a much sought-after grail. This scarf was issued only twice in the 90 cm format: in 1987, then in 1990. Since then, only a 70 cm version has been reissued, in 2011. It is presented here in the version Hermès calls “vintage silk”, a silk that, unlike silk twill, is particularly fluid.

A word from Diane
This scarf is a vibrant, graphic tribute to the soul of Texas. Kermit Oliver blends natural science, personal mythology and a celebration of American lands. Faune et Flore du Texas is not just a scarf: it is a miniature fresco, a window onto the landscape and symbols of an immense territory. A rare, precious collector’s piece, full of meaning.
